Direction 12 miles north of Granby (4 miles south of Grand Lake) on 34, you will have passed Soda Springs and the south end of paved Road 64, Roadhouse and Stillwater Church. Turn towards the lake on the north end of Road 64 which is where the bridge over the Fishing Canal is, right off 34, just before Shores of Shadow Mountain. Although you will see a Mountain shadows gate here, I suggest you follow paved road to the lake. Turn left when you reach the lake; at this point, the road is dirt. Follow it about a half mile to the lower lake area gate entrance to Mountain Shadows. Then you can follow the green line on the map and it will be closer for you.
